Alexander Bondarenko

Alexander received his Diploma in engineering in Russia and Masters's degree in computer science and media from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in 2018, where he wrote his Master's thesis on Identifying Comparative Questions on the Russian WebExternal link. Afterward, in Spring 2018, Alexander joined the Big Data Analytics group at Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg as a research assistant and PhD student. From October 2022, Alexander has been working in the Databases and Information Systems group at Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, where he successfully defended his dissertation on Understanding Comparative Questions and Retrieving Argumentative AnswersExternal link in June 2023. His research focuses on natural language understanding, question answering systems, information retrieval, argumentation, and causality.
