Flavia Remo - Saddle-node bifurcations in hybrid-forced systems

In this talk, we study the saddle node bifurcation pattern that may lead to the formation of strange non-chaotic attractors that occur in a certain class of skew products referred to as hybrid-forced systems. The bifurcation pattern is characterised as a form of a critical transition in forced systems and therefore we investigate the behaviour of asymptotic Lyapunov exponents and finite time Lyapunov exponents which translates into early warning signals in the form of slow recovery rates (critical slowing down).
