David Rackl has been accepted into the Young Scientist Mentoring Programme of the University Klaganfurt for the academic year 2025/26. During two research visits to the FSU Jena, he will be supervised by Prof. Tobias Jäger as an external mentor.

A two-year PhD Fellowship was awarded to Lino Haupt by the German Academic Scholarship Fundation. In the context of his project, he will study topological and spectral properties of dynamical systems arising in the context of aperiodic order.

An online tool for the generation of fractals induced by so-called iterated function systems (IFS) was programmed by by Marta Imke in the context of a project work in the research group Dynamical Systems. The online fractal generator can be used both in teaching and elsewhere to illustrate the fascinating richness of the world of fractals.

The DFG has approved a new research project on `Finite topomorphic extensions of equicontinuous systems', aiming at a deeper understanding of broad classes of dynamical systems in the regime of low and intermediate complexity. Examples include mathematical quasicrystals, quasiperiodic Schrödinger cocycles or strange attractors created in nonsmooth bifurcations (picture).
