  1. One-Day-Workshop Topological Dynamics

The dynamics group in Jena organises a one-day workshop on topological dynamics, focusing on algebraic and structural aspects of the field. The workshop will take place on the 4th of June 2026 in rooms 1006 and 1085 of the faculty building (Inselplatz 5). Invited speakers are Prof. Johannes Kellendonk (Univ. Lyon), Assist. Prof. Chunlin Liu (PAN Warsow) and Assist. Prof. Gabriel Fuhrmann (Durham University) .

  2. DAAD funds joint project with the Jagiellonian University Krakow

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) funds the scientific exchange between the Dynamical Systems group (D. Kwietniak) at the Jagiellonian University of Krakow and the research groups in Dynamical Systems (T. Jäger) and Analysis (D. Lenz) at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena. The joint project will focus on `Topologial Dynamics, Extension Structures and Complexity'.

  3. Do it yourself Fractals

An online tool for the generation of fractals induced by so-called iterated function systems (IFS) was programmed by by Marta Imke in the context of a project work in the research group Dynamical Systems. The online fractal generator can be used both in teaching and elsewhere to illustrate the fascinating richness of the world of fractals.

  4. New DFG resarch grant "Finite topomorphic extensions"

The DFG has approved a new research project on `Finite topomorphic extensions of equicontinuous systems', aiming at a deeper understanding of broad classes of dynamical systems in the regime of low and intermediate complexity. Examples include mathematical quasicrystals, quasiperiodic Schrödinger cocycles or strange attractors created in nonsmooth bifurcations (picture).
